Macbook Air – No Backlight (Water Damage Victim)

The red component on the left (marked with a “P”) is the backlight fuse. It has blown. As have the display connector and cable that it was to protect.

Well – that buffed-out nicely. Both cable and connector are new.

Look at THIS little guy! That’s a burnt resistor!

The 4.7 Ohm 0805 resistor on the right had a hole burned in it, measured 24 Ohms, was preventing the power button from working – this is the replacement. Success. This repair is complete!
